MEDITATION
City environments profoundly inspire me, particularly the geometric and structural elements that anchor the dynamic rhythm of urban life. The graceful lines of a staircase, the pattern of stones in the sidewalk, and the repetition of windows climbing the façade of a building seem to hold the city together, standing in elegant contrast to its constant movement. These elements provide a sense of discipline and order, prompting an equally repetitive and meditative response in my work.
My expanding series translates these observations into origami sculptures, emphasizing simple shapes and repeating patterns. The white paper serves as a canvas, its shadows adding an additional layer of pattern that shifts with the light. Each shape is meticulously folded and arranged to form patterns designed to evoke a sense of serenity and stillness in the viewer, mirroring the structured beauty found in urban environments.
